Dried beef started as a Pennsylvania Dutch favorite and is now enjoyed across the country. Knauss genuine
old-fashioned, dried beef is slowly cured, lean beef is trimmed to attain 92%-98% leanness and then cured and dried in our smokehouses. Knauss dried beef can be served as creamed chipped beef over toast, used in dips, hors d’oeuvres, casseroles and sandwiches.

Cooking Instructions/Serving Suggestions
Our Knauss Dried Beef is fully cooked but must be kept refrigerated.
Homemade Creamed Chipped Beef
4 oz Dried Beef
1 tbsp. butter
4 tbsp. flour
2 cups milk
Cut Dried Beef into small pieces, add to 1 table spoon of melted butter or margarine in a sauce pan. Blend in 4 tablespoons of flour, 2 cups of milk. Cook over medium heat until thick and smooth. Serve over toast, baked potatoes or biscuits.
TIP: To avoid lumps in cream sauce, first shake milk and flour together in a seal-tight container, then add to Dried Beef and butter and cook over medium heat.
